How to downgrade from Google+ and keep your YouTube profile

Today I finally managed to get rid of Google+. Since I only was a YouTube user before Google acquired it (one of the worst things that could have possibly happened to the Internet in the past few years), I never really wanted to join the Google+ social network (not only because it sucks anyway but mainly because I don’t really want to hand over all my personal stuff to a company that will most certainly monetize my information).
As they don’t want to see their users leave, they kinda try to scare them off by stating their YouTube profile will be deleted as well when downgrading from Google+. Since YouTube was pretty much the only thing besides their search engine I used at all, this one actually made me think too. However, the thing is that when I *got forced to upgrade*, they created a separate YouTube channel which was linked to my Google+ name (since apparently everyone loves to use their real name on the internet nowadays – oh well we don’t!). The statement about deleting the YouTube channel as well ONLY concerned this (empty) channel, not my original one.
Anyway I didn’t even give the least possible fuck when pushing the “downgrade” button. My Google+ profile got deleted and so got my real-life YouTube channel (a win-win situation after all).
The link was this one by the way: https://plus.google.com/downgrade/
After the downgrade process I was asked to fill out a survey about why I decided to leave Google+ (which I actually did in a really controversial way).
So what can I say? Thanks for all the fish, never annoy me with Google+ again. After submitting the survey I received a thank you message that made me laugh quite hard:
Thank you… for leaving us? Haha yeah well played Google.
