Dropbox

So there’s this site called Dropbox.com. It’s a site offering each user free 2GB of cloud space to save their files on. That’s extremely useful when you’d like to access your files from a different computer.

Here’s a screenshot of their web interface:

The way Dropbox works is somewhat special though: After installing the Dropbox client, there will be a new folder on your harddrive. Every file you copy into this folder automatically will be synchronized with your cloud storage. Therefore, if you would like to share your files or access them from elsewhere you simply can access them either via logging in to your Dropbox account at their website or share them with other Dropbox users. This way all users will receive automatic updates of all files dropped into the Dropbox. In case of a harddrive failure you still would be able to access your files via Dropbox due to the online backup.

And there are even more features – It’s even possible to revert to an older version of a file!
Registering over this link will give you 250MB additional harddisk space (which makes 2.25 GB in total). Users who need additional storage capacities can upgrade their account to +50 GB, +100 GB, or even +1.000 GB easily.
