Required tools:
Samsung Kies (due to USB drivers)
Odin 1.85

Step 01:
Go to settings, scroll down to phone infos and you should see an entry telling you the build number of your firmware. Now have a look on what the build number ends, my one ends with KE7.

Step 02:
Since you know which version you’ve currently installed visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 and find a CFW for your current kernel. I simply searched the site for _KE7 and downloaded CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v4.0-CWM4.zip.

Step 03:
Extract the file you just downloaded once so you end up having a *.tar file. Now make sure Kies is not running. Also make sure its tray icon disappeared as well. After performing those steps start Odin 1.85.

Step 04:
Make sure everything looks like this:

Push the PDA button, choose the *.tar file you unpacked and make sure everything looks like in the screenshot. Now shutdown your Samsung Galaxy SII and once it’s turned off enter the Download Mode by hitting the following three phone buttons at the same time: VOLUME-DOWN & HOME-BUTTON & POWER-BUTTON. The phone will boot into the Download Mode and print a warning – continue by pushing the VOLUME-UP button.

Step 05:
Connect your phone via your USB cable. Wait until the ID:COM field turns yellow in Odin 1.85.

Now click the Start-Button in Odin and the flashing process will start. It should be finished after a couple of seconds and the ID:COM field should look something like this:

Turn on your phone, enter your PIN-code and enjoy a fully rooted Samsung Galaxy S2.
