VMWare Workstation 8: Windows cannot read the setting from the unattend answer file

Here is my solution for the following error message I received in VMWare Workstations 8 when attempting to install Windows 8:
1. Power off your VM.
2. Edit the Virtual Machine’s settings
3. Remove the virtual Floppy device
